Ganlanba Navigation Complex (Dam) Project being prepared

The Yunnan Province's Transportation Office has recently formed a preparatory group for the Harbour Navigation Construction Development Company, which kick-started the prepartion work for the Ganlanba Navigation Complex Project on Lancang River.

Lancang River's Ganlanba Navigation Complex Project is the Yunnan's first project that combine the functions of navigation and power generation. Its construction will help maintain the navigation across the Jinghong dam, after its completion, on Lancang-Mekong River, the international water transport course. On the other hand, it will generate income by power generation, for the operation of such a water transport facility.

According to the Transportation Office, during the formation of the preparatory group, all relevant departments are required to maintain a high level of responsibility. They are told to build a success model of navigation complex construction for the whole province, promote the development of international water transport on Lancang-Mekong River, and accumulate experiences for future projects.
