governance in context
Part One - case studies from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Vanuatu, Australia
and the Mekong River Basin. This panel session will examine specific issues
and trends in water governance in a range of situations at various scales.

*Session 25 (30 Nov. 15.30-17.00 pm): Water
governance in context
Part Two key themes. This session will examine drivers for change
in water governance; top-down and bottom-up catchment management frameworks;
public/private/community roles in water service provision; equity implications
of market mechanisms in water governance, including gender and ethnic
dimensions; and dealing with conflict and risk in water governance. Examples
will be drawn from the cases presented and discussed in the first session.
