Charlie Pahlman Memorial Lecture and Account

The Charlie Pahlman Memorial Account is named in memory of Charlie Pahlman whose interests in social and environmental aspects of development in the Mekong Region were close to those of the AMRC. The account is managed by the AMRC and is used for university-related activities such as annual lectures and visiting scholars from the Mekong Region. It receives funds by donation from individuals and organisations that wish to further the stated objectives of the Australian Mekong Resource Centre. Donations are tax deductible.

In November 2006 funds from the account were used to host the inaugural Charlie Pahlman Memorial Lecture titled
'Development and poverty in the Mekong: aiding, abetting or alleviating?' given by Witoon Permpongsacharoen of the Foundation for Ecological Recovery, Thailand. Recordings from this lecture are now available on the AMRC website.
